A SUCCESSUL international evening was held at Bangor University. Organised by the University's Student Services Centre, the evening celebrated the culture and diversity at the university, providing an opportunity for students and staff to share in their cultural diversities by way of music, dance, poetry, costume and tradition.
Bangor University's vice-chancellor, Professor Merfyn Jones, said: "An international and multicultural character is a vital element of the student experience at any university and I'm glad to be able to welcome so many diverse cultures and nationalities to the international evening." |

CARERS from Gwynedd and Anglesey were treated to a day of pampering by Coleg Menai. Students on hair, beauty and therapy courses gave treatments to the dozens of unpaid people who care for others in the community.
The Carers Outreach Service said the experience was of benefit to carers many of who care for someone 24 hours a day. |

A 63-YEAR-OLD man was being questioned today after he was arrested on suspicion of murder. It follows a disturbance at an address on Friars Road in the Hirale area of Bangor, shortly after midnight this morning. Police attended and found an 88-year-old in need of medical attention. He was rushed to Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, but later died. |
